KCLS Online Program: What is Charity Care? @ KCLS Online Program

For adults.
Presented by the Office of the Attorney General.
Program conducted in Spanish.
Federal and state laws require hospitals to provide Washingtonians certain types of medical care for free or at a lower cost, depending on income and family size. Charity care must be offered to people who cannot afford to pay for medical treatment. State law defines charity care as “medically necessary” treatment.
Understand what charity care is and get help navigating the sometimes-costly medical services you or your loved ones could face in a medical emergency. Get tips, resources and your questions answered by a consumer protection representative.

Kitsap Peninsula Walk to End Alzheimer's @ Bremerton Boardwalk

Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is happening — and you can join us at your local event or Walk From Home in your neighborhood. No matter where you participate, know that your health and safety are our top priorities. All local events will implement safety protocols including physical distancing, contactless registration, hand sanitizing stations and more. We ask that all Walk attendees be vaccinated against COVID-19 or wear a mask, per CDC guidelines around large outdoor events. Masks will be available on-site.

While there is no fee to register for Walk, all participants are encouraged to raise critical funds that allow the Alzheimer’s Association to provide 24/7 care and support and advance research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure.
