On Friday, April 8, 2016, the Friends of the Portland Memory Garden will offer a full-day seminar entitled Gardens in Senior Living in Portland, Oregon at Legacy Health’s Emanuel campus.
Experts in the field of therapeutic landscape design, health care and aging issues will present interesting and current information about how gardens and nature benefit senior residents in their care communities.
This is an excellent learning opportunity for those who deliver residential care to the elderly such as health care administrators, horticultural therapists, social workers, activity directors, occupational and physical therapists, and for anyone interested in how gardens enhance the lives of the elderly. Participants get hands-on experiences with activities, and take away practical ideas for planning a yearly horticultural therapy program. Brochure and fees are available by contacting Patty Cassidy, HTR, email@example.com.
