Friends for Life: Staying Connected As We Age @ Lake Hills Library

Facilitated by Christine Gao, Professional Certified Coach, and Joanne Gainen, Eastside Neighbors Network.
Loneliness and isolation are now well-known risk factors in aging.
By actively maintaining friendships in our lives, we can enjoy a healthier outlook and greater enjoyment of our later years. This interactive session will explore the role of friendship in our lives as we grow older. Working together, we will consider the following topics:
• What are your expectations in friendship?
• How are friendships different as we age?
• How do we cultivate new friends while keeping existing friendships fresh?
• What happens when we lose a good friend?
• Reflecting on some of your best friendship, what can you learn about yourself?
• What are some new actions, things you want to do to establish new friendship, or generate new life in the existing ones?
Bring your stories, challenges and questions. Take away fresh energy for nurturing the friendships in your life, both old and new.
