HELP IS HERE! Caring for People who have Dementia @ Laurelhurst Village | Portland | Oregon | United States

Anne P. Hill, JD, is co-author of the Help is Here book series. The first book, Help is Here: When someone you love has dementia, was written specifically for family caregivers. Anne will discuss dementia, how it impacts families and specific ways that family caregivers can communicate with and care more effectively for a family member who has dementia so there are more happy days.

The second portion of the presentation will focus on why the frontline care staff, including not only the caregivers but also the maintenance, housekeeping and dining room staff, at senior residences are so critically important to residents who have dementia. Anne will discuss how frontline staff better care for residents with dementia and recognize when they are in distress, topics covered in the second book, Help is Here: When a Resident has Dementia.
