The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the world to change the way in which we live our lives, it is an opportunity to to develop strategies and approaches to address loneliness and social isolation among older adults.

Older Adults are one of the populations most vulnerable to COVID-19. This vulnerability likely means that they will most likely have to engage in physical distancing for longer than the general population.

For these older adults, staying social during this time, while maintaining a physical distance, is vital. Even before the pandemic the older adult population has been dealing with the realities of social isolation and loneliness. The isolation has been exacerbated with the coronavirus pandemic.

Physical distancing does not mean we have to be disconnected.
