Cardiac rehabilitation is a vital part of comprehensive care for patients with heart disease. Providence Willamette Falls Cardiac Rehabilitation Center helps patients who have had a heart attack, bypass surgery, angioplasty, valve surgery or other procedures regain their strength close to home. Through this 8 – 12 week program of medically supervised and structured exercise, nutrition and education, patients recover strong and experience dramatically reduced occurrences of second heart attack.

Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center opened Cardiac Rehabilitation Services in 2015. Since then, we’ve seen over 3,500 patient visits. However, less than 20% of those who are prescribed cardiac rehabilitation are able to participate. Barriers include transportation, capacity and accessibility for working individuals. Prevention and recovery saves lives. We must ensure anyone who needs this service can access it.
We can triple this program with an investment of $300,000 to remodel existing space, add equipment and infrastructure to accommodate more patients. We have the opportunity to dramatically reduce barriers to recovery and prevention care for people with cardiovascular disease in our community.
