Understanding dementia as a disease is a huge step forward in caring for ourselves and our loved ones. In this session, Jake will go through practical tips, training and tricks regarding caring for a person with the disease. This is the most hands-on of all the four presentations and will feature a large “Q&A” time. Beverages and dessert will be served, and after the presentation we will offer a tour of our assisted living, memory care and/or skilled nursing if you would like to see any of these areas on our campus.
The room was very full for our first presentation, so please RSVP today to Carole at 253.320.4216 or at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to attend!
About our Speaker – Jake Gamble:
Jake Gamble is the owner and administrator of Generations Home Care, a locally owned business in Tacoma, WA. He has been involved in caring for seniors in some capacity for the last seven years, spending the first portion of that time working in memory care and doing training with the Alzheimer’s Association. Jake’s passion for training families, quality care, and understanding the disease stem from his time loving and serving the families that have walked through Alzheimer’s and other dementias. He is husband to Jessica, and dad to Michelle (5), Zoey (4), and Caleb (3). They live in Puyallup in a 100 year old house where everything is broken and no one ever sleeps.
Please mark your calendar for the last two presentations in this series. When you call to RSVP for the June 13th presentation, you can also RSVP for the September and/or October presentations as well.
• September 19 – Communicating with Dementia: Speaking the Language of Your Loved One
• October 17 – Loving to the End: Late Stage Dementia Care
If you have any questions, please call Carole, Michelle or Shirley at 253.752.6621. Hope to see you on June 13th.
