Media Alert – DEAN E. TROENDLY, will receive funeral services followed by interment conducted with full military honors at Willamette National Cemetery. Howell, Edwards, Doerksen with Rigdon-Ransom, a proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network in Salem has arranged the services.
Chaplain Bob Weinberger (U.S. Army Veteran) will officiate the services. Additional organizations participating include Patriot Guard, The VFW and The American Legion
WHO: Dean Endres Troendly, a WWII Army Veteran, died on January 31, 2015 at the age of 90. He was born on July 3, 1924 in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from Eugene High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1946 and served with CO A, 124th ENG Battalion. He received an honorable discharge in 1947 at Ft. Lewis, Washington at the rank of PVT. No Family will be present at his services.

WHY: With more than 60,000 homeless veterans in the U.S., many whose remains are unclaimed at their death risk burial in paupers’ graves. Through the Dignity Memorial Homeless Veterans Burial Program, these two veterans won’t be among them.
Working with various local agencies, the Dignity Memorial Homeless Veterans Burial Program ensures homeless veterans in more than 35 cities receive dignified military burials when they die. Begun in 2000, the program has served more than 1,500 veterans to date.
The Dignity Memorial Homeless Veterans Burial Program is one of many efforts of the Dignity Memorial network to honor and support our nation’s veterans and active military. Other initiatives and programs include the Veterans Planning Guide, educational veterans’ seminars and special pricing for members of veterans’ service organizations.
