One Call, and the Whole Problem is Handled

When a parent or spouse needs help, families rarely need just one thing. They need care at home. They need a plan. They often need a way to pay for it. And they need someone who will pick up the phone and walk them through all of it.

That is what A Place At Home – Kirkland was built to do. We are a private-pay, in-home senior care agency serving King, Snohomish, and Pierce counties. We provide trusted caregivers in the home, we help families navigate the cost of care, and we guide the next step when more support is needed. One call, and the whole problem is handled.

Families across the Puget Sound region trust us because we treat every client the way we would want our own family treated. Care is not just what we do. It is who we are.

Why We Do this Work

A Place At Home – Kirkland did not begin as a business plan. It began with a family.

Owner Stella grew up in an entrepreneurial family and always carried the drive to build something of her own that could make a real difference in people’s lives. Senior care became that calling for a deeply personal reason. Stella watched her own mother struggle to find the right care for a grandmother living with dementia, at a time when the family did not have the resources or the knowledge to understand their options. Home was no longer the safest place, and no one had guided them.

That experience shaped everything. Stella knew the business she wanted to build. A trusted resource for families, so no one in this community would have to face that uncertainty alone.

Stella lives in Eastside with her husband and two sons, and she built this agency to serve the Puget Sound community she calls home. Her belief guides the whole team. Caregiving is not just a job. It is a calling to serve with integrity and empathy. Asking for care is not a sign of giving up. It is a way to make sure a loved one lives with dignity and love.

You can hear Stella share her story in her own words in this short video: Meet Stella Huo of A Place At Home – Kirkland.

Compassionate In-Home Care, Built Around Each Person

No two families are the same, so no two care plans should be the same. Our caregivers provide personalized, non-medical in-home care services designed around each person’s routines, health goals, and preferences.

Our services include companionship, which can mean meal preparation, light housekeeping, card games, or simply someone to talk with. We provide personal care with help grooming, bathing, and dressing. When a loved one needs more, we provide overnight care, respite care for family caregivers who need rest, after-surgery recovery support, fall prevention, and 24-hour and live-in care for around-the-clock peace of mind.

Every plan begins with a free in-home assessment. One of our care coordinators visits, listens, and learns about your loved one’s health, history, and daily life. From there we build a custom schedule and thoughtfully match a caregiver whose skills and personality fit your family. The care grows and changes as your loved one’s needs change.

Specialized Memory Care Through Echoes of Memory

Living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia is hard on the whole family. The right care can make home feel like a place of peace again.

Our caregivers receive specialized training in dementia support through our Echoes of Memory program. We focus on patience, consistency, and meaningful connection. We use familiar routines, gentle redirection, and engaging activities to reduce confusion and bring small moments of joy to each day. We also support families with guidance and education, because caring for someone with dementia should never feel like something you face alone.

And when home is no longer the safest place, we do not step away. We guide families to the right next option, such as assisted living or a nursing facility, and we coordinate care every step of the way. Learn more about our Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Proudly Serving Veterans and Their Families

Veterans have earned care that honors their service. A Place At Home – Kirkland is an approved community care provider, which means qualified Veterans in our service area can receive in-home support through their benefits.

Our team understands the paperwork, the eligibility questions, and the programs that help Veterans and surviving spouses afford care, including the VA Aid and Attendance benefit. We help families understand what they qualify for and connect that benefit to real care in the home. Learn more about our veteran home care.

Help Understanding How to Pay for Care

The cost of home care worries almost every family we meet. Many families do not realize how many ways there are to fund it.

A Place At Home – Kirkland helps families understand their options. We walk through pathways such as long-term care insurance, VA benefits, life insurance conversion, home equity solutions, family cost-sharing, and the new Washington Cares Fund. We are not financial advisors, and we do not sell financial products. We simply help families see the full picture so they can make an informed decision with confidence rather than fear.

To make this easier, we also offer a free online resource at PayForCare.ai, where families can explore how to fund senior care and understand which pathways may fit their situation. It is a simple starting point for one of the hardest questions families face.

This is what sets us apart. We do not just deliver care. We help families find the path to afford it.

Care You Can Trust, With a Caregiver Match Guarantee

A caregiver becomes part of the household. Trust and the right personal fit matter as much as skill.

We carefully select, train, and background-check every caregiver. We match each one to the client with intention. And if the fit is not right, we make it right. Our caregiver match guarantee means a family can request a different caregiver without difficulty or guilt. Consistency, comfort, and trust should start on day one and stay that way.

Our work is guided by our CARE values. We are Compassionate in every interaction. We are Accountable and follow through on our promises. We are Respectful of each senior’s dignity and life story. We are Ethical in everything we do.
